Scott & Company, et al. THE COIN COLLECTOR'S JOURNAL. ILLUSTRATED. Volumes 1-13 (New York, 1875-1888), complete. 8vo, original matching embossed blue cloth; front covers and spines lettered in gilt. 2544 pages plus indexes; numerous text illustrations. Bindings lightly worn, with occasional minor flaws and discoloration; Volumes 7 and 8 are more worn, with the latter having some sprung signatures. Generally very good or better. Bourne 1870-27. Edited first by Ed Frossard and later by David Proskey, Scott's Coin Collector's Journal is one of the great 19th-century American numismatic periodicals. While publications like Frossard's Numisma may be more entertaining to read, the Coin Collector's Journal provides more solid numismatic information on a wide variety of topics than any other commercial publication of the day. Clain-Stefanelli 485. Ex Victor Lehman, occasionally with his signature; Stewart P. Witham, with his bookplate; M. Bourne Library.
