Description

Smith, A.M. [publisher]. COINS AND COINAGE. THE UNITED STATES MINT, PHILADELPHIA, HISTORY, BIOGRAPHY, STATISTICS, WORK, MACHINERY, PRODUCTS, OFFICIALS... Philadelphia, (c. 1886, see comments). 12mo, original brown half morocco with mottled sides; spine lettered and decorated in gilt; decorative endpapers; all page edges red. Finely engraved frontispiece portrait of Daniel M. Fox; title frontispiece on verso of flyleaf. (2), 105, (21) pages; text illustrations. Binding rubbed, but sound; institutional bookplate on front pastedown and lending card pocket on rear. Very good. Originally published in 1881, this final emission includes the frontispiece of Fox, and an advertisement for Smith’s Illustrated Encyclopaedia, which was published in 1886.
