A Grand Cross breast star from the mid 19th Century, 82x76 mm, diamond-cut chiselled
silver cross anked by fleurs-de-lys; oval centre medallion with the enameled
image of the Holy Virgin, made of gold and finest enamelwork; deep-seablue enameled outer circlet with the motto “VIRTUTI ET MERITO” on
separately-made scroll in gold and enamels; the reverse fitted with vertical pin of attened section and two side-hooks.
A superb star, perfect condition. I R!
