GREEK: Macedonia, Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18mm, 4.35g, 12 h), Abydos, struck under Antigonos I Monophthalmos, circa 310-301. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. [A]?E?AN?POY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram; below throne, ivy-leaf. Price 1527. Lustrous and fresh. Light marks on the obverse, otherwise, virtually as struck.
