ARKADIA, Arkadian League. Circa 470-465 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 14 mm, 2.85 g, 1 h), Kleitor mint. Zeus Lykaios seated left, holding eagle alighting to left in his right hand and long scepter in his left. Rev. R-A Head of Kallisto to right, wearing tainia and necklace and with her hair tied in queue; all within incuse square. BCD Peloponnesos 1398 ( this coin ). BMC 5 ( same dies ). Williams I, 40c (O30/R25, this coin ). Very rare. Beautifully toned, of lovely style and with an excellent pedigree. Very fine.
