★ A splendid stater from Carthage ★

CARTHAGE. Circa 350-320 BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 9.27 g, 3 h). Head of Tanit to left, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple-pendant earring and elaborate necklace. Rev. Horse standing right; before, three pellets. Jenkins & Lewis Group IIIh, 87 ( same dies ). A splendid piece of fine style. Light die breaks on the obverse and on the horse's forelegs, otherwise, good extremely fine.
