CILICIA. Soloi. Balakros, satrap of Cilicia, 333-323 BC. Stater (Silver, 23 mm, 11.14 g, 9 h). Baaltars seated left on backless throne, holding lotus-tipped scepter in his right hand and resting his left on his chlamys at his waist; to outer left, grain ear and grape bunch; to right, ivy leaf; below throne, T. Rev. Draped bust of Athena facing slightly to left, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet. Casabonne series 2. SNG Copenhagen 324. SNG Levante 117 var. (Y instead of T). SNG Paris 367-369 var. (B on reverse). Clear and attractive. The obverse struck from a somewhat worn die, otherwise, good extremely fine.
