Description

KINGS OF ARMENIA. Tigranes the Younger, 77/6-66 BC. Dichalkon (Bronze, 15 mm, 3.00 g, 1 h), Tigranokerta, circa 69/8. Draped bust of Tigranes the Younger to right, wearing five-pointed Armenian tiara decorated with a comet and tied with a diadem. Rev. [B]AΣIΛEΩΣ - [TI]ΓPANOY / ΔHMO Palm frond. Kovacs 144. Rare. A very sharp and clear piece with a lovely dark patina. Good very fine.
