SASANIAN KINGS. Peroz I, 457/9-484. Dinar (Electrum, 14 mm, 5.28 g, 3 h), issued in Sind by local governors of Peroz I, King of Kings. Draped bust of Peroz I to right, wearing elaborate crown with korymbos set on crescent; to right, tamgha. Rev. Fire altar flanked by two attendants. Cf. SNS III, pl. 145 C17 (for similar type). Very fine.

This dinar was issued by local Sasanian governors in Sind, which formed the easternmost extent of Sassanian dominion in the Indian subcontinent.
