SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria. Antioch. Philip I, 244-249. Tetradrachm (Billon, 26 mm, 11.93 g, 1 h), Rome mint, for Antioch, 246. AYTOK K M IOYΛ ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ CЄB Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip I to right, seen from behind. Rev. ΔΗΜΑΡΧ ЄΞΟΥCΙΑC / S - C / MON VRB Eagle with spread wings standing facing, head to left and holding wreath in beak; to upper right, retrograde ς. McAlee 901h. Prieur 310 var. (S instead of retrograde ς). An extremely rare variety. The reverse slightly weak, otherwise, extremely fine.
