PHOENICIA. Tyre. Circa 425-352 BC. Shekel (Subaeratus, 24 mm, 10.71 g, 7 h), a contemporary plated imitation. Bearded male deity, holding reins and bow, riding hippocamp right above two lines of waves; below, dolphin swimming right. Rev. Owl standing right, head facing; crook and flail in background. Cf. E&E-T 246-399 and HGC 10, 315 (for prototype). Minor breaks in plating, otherwise, very fine.
