★ An extremely rare dirham of Manuchihr ibn Shawur I, struck in Armenia ★

ISLAMIC, Caucasus (Pre-Seljuq). Shaddadid. Manuchihr ibn Shawur I, AH 464-512 / AD 1072-1118. Dirham (Bronze, 21 mm, 1.37 g, 3 h), citing Manuchihr ibn Shawur I and the Seljuq overlord Malik Shah, without mint (struck in Western Armenia), without date. Album 1492R. Stephen Album 34 (2019), 708. Extremely rare. Minor deposits, otherwise, very fine.

The Shaddadids were a Muslim dynasty who ruled in Armenia and Arran from 951-circa 1174.
