★ Extremely rare and unusually attractive ★

ISLAMIC, Caucasus (Pre-Seljuq). Shaddadid. Abu Nasr Iskandar, AH 485-499 / AD 1092-1105. Fals (Bronze, 20 mm, 4.50 g, 10 h), citing Amir Nasr, Dvin (Armenia). Sunface; around, legend in Kufic. Rev. Legend in Kufic within circle; in outer margin, legend in Kufic. A. Akopyan: Dvin in the eleventh and twelfth centuries. City history in the light of new numismatic materials, p. 1039, type 16. Extremely rare and unusually attractive. Struck somewhat off center, otherwise, very fine.

A. Akopyan identifies the Amir Nasr mentioned on our coin as Abu Nasr Iskandar Shaddadid, the brother of Manuchihr ibn Shawur I.
