★ A rare bronze of Waël ★

KINGS OF OSRHOENE (EDESSA). Waël, 163-165 AD. AE (Bronze, 19 mm, 9.40 g, 12 h), Edessa. Draped bust of Waël to left within wreath. Rev. Temple with pediment seen in perspective, within, cubic cult-object on a base supported by two legs; in pediment, star with three points. BMC 2S. SNG Copenhagen -. Rare and with attractive earthen highlights. The obverse struck somewhat off center , otherwise, very fine.
