NORTHWEST GAUL. Abrincatui (?). 2nd-1st centuries BC. Stater (Electrum, 18 mm, 5.74 g). Celticized male head to right, with curly hair and strings of pearls coming out of the hair. Rev. Devolved charioteer, driving a cart drawn by a centaur to right, holding reins in his right hand and a long branch ending in a vexillum-like banner in his left; below, lyre. DT 2284. LT 6985 ('Billon'). The obverse struck from a worn die and with flan faults on the reverse, otherwise, good fine.
