NORTHWEST GAUL. Carnutes. Circa 50-30 BC. AE (Bronze, 17 mm, 3.20 g, 7 h). Celticized male head to right. Rev. Two eagles flying right, one larger than the other; pentagram above larger eagle’s right wing; between eagles, cross with pellet in each quarter; to right, serpent. DT 2582-2583. LT 6088. A sharp and attractive piece with a beautiful green patina. Minor spots of corrosion, otherwise, about extremely fine.
