Description

INDO-SKYTHIANS, Northern Satraps. Mujatria, circa 1-20 AD. AE (Bronze, 13x14 mm, 2.00 g, 2 h). Horseman advancing right; around, legend in Greek naming Mujatria as Satrap. Rev. Chatrapasa Kharaostaputrasa Mujatriasa ('of Mujatria the Satrap, son of Kharahostes' in Kharoshthi) Male deity standing front, raising his right hand. J. Cribb: Dating and locating Mujatra and the two Kharahostes, in: JONS 223 (2015), pp. 26-48, 8b. Senior 147 (Hajatria). Struck on a somewhat short flan, otherwise, very fine.

Mujatria was the son of Kharahostes and brother-in-law of Rajuvula. His name was read as Hajatria by Senior, but this was corrected to Mujatria by Cribb in 2015.
