Hexagram (Silver, 22 mm, 4.16 g, 6 h), a contemporary imitation, irregular mint, after 654. δ N CONSTANTINЧS C CONSTAN (blundered) Crowned and draped bust of Constans facing, with long beard and whiskers, on the right; crowned, draped and beardless bust of Heraclius Constantine facing, on the left; above, cross. Rev. dЄЧS AdIЧTA ROMANIS (blundered) Cross potent on globe and three steps. Cf. DOC 54, MIB 149 and SB 995 (for prototype). A very unusual and interesting contemporary imitation with an inverted obverse. Minor deposits and with some doubling on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
