Elagabalus, 218-222. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 2.93 g, 6 h), Rome, 221. IMP ANTONINVS PIVS AVG Laureate head of Elagabalus to right. Rev. P M TR P IIII COS III P P Victory flying left, holding open wreath in both hands; at feet to left and right, round shields; in field to left, eight-pointed star. BMC -. Cohen 195. RIC 45. Thirion 222. Beautiful old cabinet toning and with a fine portrait. The reverse a bit weak, otherwise, extremely fine.
