Elagabalus, 218-222. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.15 g, 12 h), Rome, 222. IMP ANTONINVS PIVS AVG Laureate and draped bust of Elagabalus to right. Rev. P M TR P V COS III P P Elagabalus standing front, head to left, holding patera in his right hand and branch in his left; to left, lighted and garlanded altar; in field to left, eight-pointed star. BMC 268. Cohen 213. RIC 52. Thirion 224. Rare. Lightly toned and with a very sharp reverse. Extremely fine.
