Description

Constantine II, as Caesar, 316-337. Siliqua (Silver, 18 mm, 3.13 g, 6 h), celebrating Constantine I's tricennalia, Siscia, 336. CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C Laureate and cuirassed bust of Constantinus II to right. Rev. VICTORIA CAESARVM / SIS Victory advancing left, holding wreath in her right hand and palm frond in her left. RIC 212. RSC 204A. Rare and nicely toned. Slightly rough and with a thin flan crack, otherwise, about extremely fine.

This rare piece probably belongs to the concluding tricennial emission of 336.
