★ Well struck on a broad flan ★

KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos, 305-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33 mm, 15.81 g, 11 h), Byzantion, circa 90-81 BC. Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ Athena seated left, holding Nike, crowning the king's name, in her right hand and leaning with her left arm on shield decorated with gorgoneion; to inner left, monogram; on throne, BY; in exergue, ornamented trident to left. De Callataÿ Group 3, p. 125. Marinescu -. Müller 157. Well struck on a broad flan. Slightly rough, otherwise, extremely fine.
