Description

PERSIA, Achaemenid Empire. Time of Artaxerxes II to Artaxerxes III, circa 375-340 BC. Siglos (Silver, 15 mm, 5.56 g), Lydo-Milesian standard, Sardes or subsidiary mint. Persian king or hero in kneeling/running stance to right, holding dagger in his right hand and bow in his left. Rev. Rectangular incuse punch. BMC Arabia pl. XXVII, 19. Carradice Type IV C (pl. XV, 46). Sunrise 33. Very fine.
