★ An attractive denarius of Augustus ★

Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.78 g, 5 h), uncertain mint in Spain (Colonia Patricia?), circa 18-17/16 BC. Bare head of Augustus to right. Rev. AVGVSTVS Capricorn to right, holding globe attached to rudder between front hooves and bearing cornucopiae on back. BMC 347. Cohen 21. RIC 126. Lightly toned. The obverse struck slightly off center and with a small scratch, otherwise, extremely fine.
