Hadrian, 117-138. Dupondius (Orichalcum, 27 mm, 14.63 g, 6 h), Rome, 119-circa mid 120. IMP CAESAR TRAIANVS HADRIANVS AVG P M TR P COS III Radiate head of Hadrian to right, with slight drapery on his left shoulder. Rev. VIRTVTI AVGVSTI / S - C Virtus standing front, head to right, holding inverted spear in her right hand and parazonium in her left. BMC 1240. Cohen 1470. RIC 278. A well struck example with a splendid portrait. Corrosion spots on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
