KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 17.00 g, 1 h), Babylon I, struck under Seleukos I, circa 311-300. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. [Β]AΣIΛEΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram within wreath; below throne, Η. Price 3704. SC 82.6. Slightly rough and with minor traces of cleaning and light marks, otherwise, about very fine.
