Within a circle, ‘Allāh / lā ilāha illā Allāh / Muhammad … / ṣalla Allāh ʿalayh’ (‘There is no deity but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. May Allah bless him’ in Arabic), followed by the dynastic tamgha, the mintname and date. Rev. Citing his father, Tarmashirin (AH 726-734 / AD 1326-1333), ‘Sanjar Khān ibn / Tarmāshīrī[n] Khān / ḍuriba fī ayyām dawla al-sulṭān / al-ʿādil ʿAlāʾ al-Dunyā wa al-Dīn / khallada Allāh mulkahū’ (‘Sanjar Khan, son of Tarmashirin Khan. Struck in the days of the state of the just sultan ʿAla al-Dunya wa al-Din. May Allah perpetuate his kingdom’ in Arabic). Album 1996. Rare and nicely toned.
