Description

★ Beautifully toned and with an attractive obverse ★

L. Plautius Plancus, 47 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.42 g, 12 h), Rome. L•PLAVTIVS Facing head of Medusa with coiled serpent on either side. Rev. P[LANCVS] Victory (or winged Aurora) flying right, head to left, holding reins and conducting four rearing horses of the sun. Babelon (Plautia) 15. Crawford 453/1a. RBW 1583. Sydenham 959. Beautifully toned and with an attractive obverse. Some flatness and with a thin surface crack on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
