★ A sharply struck late hekte from Mytilene ★
LESBOS. Mytilene. Circa 377-326 BC. Hekte (Electrum, 9 mm, 2.55 g, 1 h). Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. Head of a female to right, her hair bound in sakkos; behind, coiled serpent; all within linear square. Bodenstedt 100A. SNG Copenhagen 317 var. (serpent on the obverse). SNG von Aulock 1714. Sharply struck and attractive. The obverse struck off center and with a minor scrape on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
