C. Servilius Vatia, 127 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.84 g, 12 h), Rome. ROMA Head of Roma to right, wearing winged helmet; behind, lituus; before, star (mark of value). Rev. C•SER(VE)IL Battle on horseback between two warriors; the warrior on the right is holding a shield inscribed with M in his left hand. Babelon (Marcia) 12. Crawford 264/1. RBW 1069. Sydenham 483. Beautifully toned. Light surface roughness, otherwise, good very fine.
