Octavian and Divus Julius Caesar. Denarius (Subaeratus, 19 mm, 2.35 g, 10 h), with Agrippa. A contemporary imitation from an irregular mint, after 38 BC. DIVOS•IVLIVS DIVI F Wreathed head of Divus Julius and bare head of Octavian vis-à-vis. Rev. [M•AG]RIPPA•COS / [DE]SIG in two lines. Cf. Babelon (Junia) 31, Crawford 534/2 and Sydenham 1330 (for prototype). Very rare. Some breaks in plating and the reverse struck slightly off center and with minor deposits, otherwise, about very fine.
