★ An extremely rare exagium solidi of Marcian ★

Marcian, 450-457. Exagium Solidi (Bronze, 17 mm, 4.10 g, 6 h), Thessalonica (?). Crowned, diademed and draped facing bust of Marcian. Rev. Monogram of Marcian; cross above. Bendall 15a-b ( same dies ). Extremely rare and very well preserved. Minor corrosion on the emperor's diadem, otherwise, good very fine.

From a European collection, formed before 2005.
