KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 16.76 g, 1 h), Sikyon, circa 225-215. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. [ΑΛΕΞ]ΑΝ[ΔΡΟY] Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, boy advancing left, holding taenia in upraised hands; below throne, monogram of TM; to inner right, tripod. Price 725 var. (without tripod). An interesting issue with a lovely reverse symbol. Some cleaning scratches, otherwise, good very fine.
