Description

Diocletian, 284-305. Antoninianus (Silvered bronze, 23 mm, 4.51 g, 6 h), Cyzicus, 292-293. IMP C C VAL DIOCLETIANVS AVG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Diocletian to right, seen from behind. Rev. CONCORDIA MILITVM / Γ / XXI Diocletian, on the left, standing right, holding short scepter in his left hand and receiving Victory on globe from Jupiter, on the right, standing left, holding long scepter in his left hand. Cohen 33. RIC 306. Nearly fully silvered. Very minor weakness, otherwise, good extremely fine.

From the collection of the Swiss-Spanish coin dealer and former Swiss Guard at the Vatican José Truyol, formed since the early 1970s.
