MACEDON. Neapolis. Circa 500-480 BC. Stater (Silver, 19 mm, 9.81 g). Facing gorgoneion with protruding tongue. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Dewing 1064. HGC 3.1, 583. SNG ANS 416-7. SNG Ashmolean 2320. SNG Copenhagen 223. Boldly struck and with an impressive facing gorgoneion. Slightly rough and with minor horn silver, otherwise, good very fine.
