IONIA. Phokaia. Circa 478-387 BC. Hekte (Electrum, 10 mm, 2.57 g). Head of Athena to left, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with a griffin on the bowl; below, [small seal to left]. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Bodenstedt 91. SNG Copenhagen 1028. SNG von Aulock 2131. A splendid piece, perfectly centered and with a wonderful head of Athena with a full crest. Extremely fine.
