GAUL. Massalia. Circa 150-125 BC. Drachm (Silver, 14 mm, 2.69 g, 7 h). Laureate head of Artemis to right, wearing pendant earring and pearl necklace, and with bow and quiver behind. Rev. MAΣΣA/ΛIHTΩN Lion walking right; in field to right, A. Depeyrot 37. LT 944. Maurel 551. An exceptional example, beautifully toned and of very attractive style. Extremely fine.
