Draped and bearded Sasanian style bust to right, wearing the crown of Khosrau I; behind head, PZWNY ('may he increase' in Pahlawi); before head, HWSRWD ('Khosrau' in Pahlawi). Rev. Sasanian fire altar set on two steps, flanked by two attendants standing facing; in upper field to left, star; in upper field to right, crescent; to left, blundered date; to right, swastika with pellet above and below. Göbl 295. Vondrovec, Type 295. Rare without countermarks. An attractive and lightly toned example. Minor marks, otherwise, very fine.
