Kushan Dynasty, Kanishka I (127-140 AD), Gold Dinar, “OESHO” (Shiva) type, Obv: a diademed king standing, facing left, holding a spear in his left hand and sacrificing over an altar on the left field, Bactrian legend "ÞAONANOÞAO KA-NHÞKI KOÞANO" ("Shaonashao Kanishki Koshano"… King of Kings, Kanishka the Kushan) around the field, Rev: a four-armed lord Shiva standing, nimbate, facing left, hair in a topknot and wearing a dhoti, holding a tilted water pot (lota) in his extended lower-right hand, a damru in upper-right hand, and a trident in upper-left hand, an animal (buck or goat) is held by the horns in his lower-left hand, left hand akimbo, tamgha on the left field, Bactrian legend “OηþO” (OESHO) at right field, dotted border around the field, 7.85g, 16.6mm, (Gobl # 37/Jongward & Cribb # 372), choice very fine, Very Rare.
