*Fane’s Horse Great War Indian Distinguished Service Medal for Palestine, I.D.S.M. George V type 1 (officially engraved (Resdr. Bhan Singh, 19th Lcrs), good very fine, a scarce award. Ex Buckland Dix and Wood, 20 October 1993, lot 242. Bhar Singh was awarded the I.D.S.M. 19 July 1918 for services in the Jordan Valley, during the Turkish attack on El Mussallabe, Palestine. He was appointed Jemadar 1 September 1914, Resseldar 25 August 1917 and Risaldar March 1920, he retired the following year. He was also granted two squares of land in the Punjab, offered with photocopied extract from General Sir H. Hudson, G.C.B., 19th King George’s Own Lancers 1858-1921.
