Ireland (?), so-called ring money (2), both in base gold, of penannular and twisted form, 20 x 24mm, 1.41g and 14 x 14mm, 0.99g, very fine; together with a plain bronze ring of indeterminate date, 28mm (3) Provenance: The two penannular rings are offered with R. Carlyon-Britton’s tickets, nos. 632402 and 632400 respectively. A recent XRF test gives results of (i) 13.7% gold, 81.6% silver, 4.7% copper and (ii) 19.9% gold, 75.5% silver, 4.2% copper, 0.4% iron.
