Ptolemaic Empire, Ptolemy II (283-246 BC), silver decadrachm, Alexandria, c. 253/2-250/49 BC, diademed and veiled head of Arsinoe II right, lotus-sceptre over far shoulder; behind, ΕΕ, rev., ΑΡΣΙΝΟΗΣ ΦΙΛΑΔΕΛΦΟΥ, double cornucopia bound with royal diadem, 34.67g, die axis 12.00 (CPE 347; Svoronos 940, pl. 28, 6), faint flan crack and edge flaw, about extremely fine. Provenance: Virgil M. Brand Collection (part 3), Sotheby’s Zurich, 9 June 1983, lot 178.
