THE ROMAN EMPIRE
Theodosius II, 402 – 450
Solidus, Constantinopolis 424-425, AV 4.48 g. Helmeted, diademed and cuirassed bust three-quarters facing, holding spear and shield with horseman and enemy motif. Rev. Theodosius enthroned and Valentinian standing facing, both holding mappa and cruciform sceptre; above star. Depeyrot 78/1. RIC 233.
An almost invisible nick on obverse and minor marks on reverse, otherwise extremely fine
