Description

Kingdom of Macedon, Philip II, 359 – 336 Pella Stater 336-328, AV 20mm., 8.59g. Laureate head of Apollo r. Rev. Charioteer driving fast biga r.; below, Phrygian helmet. In exergue, FILIPPOU. Le Rider -, for symbol cf. 432 (tetradrachm).

An apparently unrecorded symbol for the gold issues. A gentle portrait of good style struck in high relief. Minor nick on reverse edge at three o’clock and light marks, otherwise Good Extremely Fine.
