Bithynia, Nicaea Octavian as Augustus, 27 BC – 14 AD Bronze circa 25 BC, Æ 21.5mm., 6.13g. Bare head of Thorius Flaccus r. Rev. Draped bust of Juno Lanuvia r.; monograms to l. and r. RPC 2029.1. Weiser, Nikaia -. R.G. 19 and pl. LXV, 17.

Proconsul: Thorius Flaccus. Thorius Flaccus served as proconsul of the province of Bithynia under Augustus. He is only known from his coin issues at Nicaea and Nicomedia In addition, winning bids of EEC clients for this coin are subject to a 5% fee on hammer price as a reimbursement for import duty paid to HMRC.
