Description
KINGS OF ARMENIA. Tigranes V, the Cappadocian, AD 6-12. Chalkous (Bronze, 14.5 mm, 1.94 g, 1 h), Artagigarta (?). Diademed, draped, and bearded bust of Tigranes to right, wearing tiara decorated with three eagles. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΤΙΓΡΑΝΟΥ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ Eagle standing to right. ACV 166. CAA 156. Kovacs 185. A clear example of this rare type. Very fine.
