MACEDON. Thessalonica. Marcus Aurelius, 161-180. (Bronze, 27 mm, 11.83 g, 11 h), c. 177-180. ΑYΤOΚΡΑΤΩΡ ΑYΡ ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝOC Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Marcus Aurelius to right, seen from behind. Rev. ΘECCΑΛΟΝ-EΙΚEΩΝ Nike advancing to right, holding wreath and palm frond. RPC Online 8177. SNG Copenhagen 413. Touratsoglou 3-5. Very scarce issue, with only four examples known to the RPC editors, three in museums. Very fine.
