Septimius Severus, 193-211. Cilicia. Lamus. Triassarion (Bronze, 32 mm, 20.78 g, 6 h). ΑΥΤ Κ Λ CΕΠ CΕΥΗΡ ΠΕΡ Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus to right. Rev. ΛΑΜωΤ ΜΗΤΡ ΛΑΜωΤΙΔ Eagle, standing facing on a tall altar, with spread wings and with his head turned to right, holding a wreath in his beak. Levante - (but cf. 2, same obverse die, and 7, same reverse type). Very rare, and possibly unpublished, with a portrait done in a striking provincial style and with a dark green-brown patina. Somewhat rough surfaces, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
