KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 20.5 mm, 4.21 g, 1 h), Chios, circa 290-275. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; in left field, monogram above grape bunch. Price 2319. Toned; unusual depiction of the lion's skin headdress. Good very fine.
