Description
SPAIN. Castulo. Mid 1st century BC. Unit (Bronze, 27 mm, 12.67 g, 10 h). Diademed male head to right; in the right field, left hand upwards. Rev. kaśtilo Sphinx walking to right, left forefoot raised; in field to right, 8-pointed star. Burgos 544. CNH pg. 336, 39. SNG BM 1323-1344. Particularly well struck for type -especially the reverse-. Very fine.
